FAQ's for Teachers

The Teacher Enrichment Leadership Academy (TELA), formerly known as the VBTA, will impact teachers, students, and scientists. The following are some FAQ’s for teachers, students, and scientist.

Q. How do I get involved in TELA?

A. Teachers are automatically members of TELA when they attend the Spring Conference or the Fall Meeting. Sign-up for our email list on the TEI homepage to have access to more teacher professional development and community outreach opportunities.

Q. Do I have to pay or is there a fee to receive the professional development training or become a member of the Academy?

A. There is no fee to participate in the program. The program is supported and funded through the generosity of the Voelckers and the Voelcker fund.

Q. What is required of the teachers as members of the Voelcker Biosciences Teacher Academy?

A.  Teachers are asked to become fully participating members by attending TELA functions and contributing to its success. There are many opportunities to increase professionalism and offer input by sharing experiences, problem solving, and creating solutions to issues facing teachers today.  Teachers are expected to take advantage of networking with other TELA members.
